How is Supaflow Credit Usage Calculated

Supaflow features run on Supaflow-managed compute, billed in Compute-Hours.

  • What's a Compute-Hour? One Compute-Hour equals the resources of running a Small Compute Node for one hour. If larger or smaller nodes are used, usage is scaled proportionally.
  • Example: Running a Medium node for 30 minutes = 1 Compute-Hour.
  • How it's measured: Usage is tracked per second, with a 60-second minimum per job. After the first 60 seconds, usage is rounded up to the nearest second.
  • Billing: 1 Compute-Hour = 1 Supaflow Credit.
  • How it shows up: All charges appear as a single line item per feature in your usage statement.

Example Credit Calculation

Pipeline on L (Large) node for 30 minutes= 2 credits
Pipeline on S (Small) node for 2 hours= 2 credits
Pipeline on M (Medium) node for 15 minutes= 0.5 credits

Pro Tip: Most pipelines will run on S nodes, so you can save on costs by scaling up to L nodes only when advised by your TAM.

Frequently Asked Questions

How does credit-based pricing work?

You purchase credits and consume them based on the compute resources you use. Each pipeline run consumes credits based on the Agent Node Size (see table above) and the job duration. Unlike competitors who charge per row of data, our credit model gives you transparent costs.

Do I have to estimate compute before switching?

No. You do not have to guess. The 31-day trial lets you run your real pipelines for a full month and see exactly how many credits they consume. If you are switching from Fivetran, bring us your Fivetran invoice and MAR. We will guarantee 50% off for the same MAR, so you can move without worrying about whether your first compute estimate is perfect.

Do you offer a free plan?

Yes. The Free plan is a full-featured free plan with 10 credits per month, access to all connectors, unlimited pipelines, dbt integration, Reverse ETL, monitoring, and API access. That is enough for a couple of pipelines that sync once a day. No credit card required. When you need more credits or team features like RBAC and Git integration, upgrade to Professional or Enterprise.

What's included in the free trial?

Our 31-day free trial includes credits to test your data pipelines with full access to Enterprise features. No credit card required to start. After the trial ends, you automatically move to the Free plan.

Can I switch between plans?

Yes, you can upgrade or downgrade your plan at any time (subject to term commitments). Changes take effect immediately, and billing is prorated based on your usage.

Do you offer volume discounts?

Yes, Enterprise and Business Critical customers receive volume discounts based on credits purchased. Contact our sales team to discuss your expected credit consumption.

What does Priority support (business hours) mean?

Priority support gives Enterprise customers faster queue priority and target response times than Standard support during business hours. For 24x7 critical incident coverage, choose the Business Critical tier.

How do you compare to Fivetran pricing?

Fivetran charges based on Monthly Active Rows (MAR), which can lead to unpredictable costs because data change rates vary and spikes are common. Supaflow uses compute-based pricing instead: you pay for the runtime your jobs actually consume. In one high-volume benchmark, Supaflow moved 26.3 million rows for $80.95 at paid list price, while Fivetran's 2026 Pricing Estimator returned $1,908.86 for the same row-volume input. Your exact savings depend on source speed, destination write path, change rate, and sync cadence.Read the 26M-row benchmark →

How does Supaflow compare to other Fivetran alternatives?

Fivetran isn't the only option teams evaluate. Airbyte, Stitch, and Matillion all take different trade-offs on pricing, deployment, and transformation. If you're earlier in the shortlisting process — not yet committed to any specific vendor — the market roundup breaks down pricing models, deployment options, and Snowflake fit across all the major players.See the Fivetran alternatives roundup →
